Q1. What is Recordcup?

Recordcup is a website which allows users create their own world records. The goal of Recordcup is building up a "casual and fun Guinness world records". Users can create any contest for challenge by uploading photos and videos and look for who is the champion in the world.

Users can also watch the latest competitions in Recordcup and express your preference by vote. Contribute your opinion with others to create world records.

Q2. Why do I need to sign up?

The service of Recordcup is completely free. Any users can view world records in Recordcup. However, signing up and becoming one of members bring you many advantages,
1. You can open any new contest and invite people to challenge
2. You can challenge the given contests and become a world champion
3. You can vote for the world champions you prefer
4. You can make comments for encouraging challengers you like or making friends with the people who share the same interests

Q3. How is a contest ranked?

All the contests are divided into two categories, one is quantitative and the other is non-quantitative (by score). What kind of category a contest belongs to is decided by the user opening a contest.
A champion of quantitative contest is decided by units, such as "ice cream stack" contest. The more scoops of ice cream you make, the better you are.
A champion of non-quantitative contest is decided by score. The current ranking system Recordcup has is "scored by users". Users can score each item from 5 to 1, the highest mark to the lowest mark, in any contest. A champion of a contest is the challenger who has the highest total score.

Recordcup provides various modes of viewing contests, such as by score, by published date, by views and at random.

Q4. What and how to upload?

Users can challenge a contest by uploading either photos or videos. Click "Challenge" to upload contents. Recordcup also supports external video (currently YouTube).

Q5. How to score each item?

It is super easy to score items. Please click the title of the contest which you feel interested in, then you will enter the voting page of the contest. On the left side, you can see a frame showing one challenger's photo or video. On the frame you can score the item you are looking at from 5 to 1. Also you can view different items by clicking upward and downward arrows in the challenger list on the right side.

To avoid from fake scores, Recordcup allows each username to score each item only once. However, you can change unlimited times of the score you marked if you figure out other items are cooler.

Q6. Categories of Contests? How to search? How to Tag?

All the contests would fit in eight categories, such as human body, amazing feats, natural world, science & tech, arts and media, modern society, travel & transport, and sports & games. Users can search interesting contests by categories with key words.

Every time when users create a contest, users can type in tags which would help others searching for this contest.

Q7. What will it happen if I click my "username" ?

If you click your "username" when u are logged in, you will see five categories of your account, including "Personal Information", "My Contests", "My Items", "Favorite Contests", and "Favorite Items". In "My Contest" and "My Items", you can delete contests/items you uploaded before.

Q8. How to make yourself updated from Recordcup?

Click "RSS" on the bottom of Recordcup.
Subscription to Recordcup can update you with the latest contests happened in Recordcup.

Q9. What are popular tags and "you are more interested in..." ?

On the right side of Recordcup you may see "popular tags on Recordcup". Popular tags are defined from users.
If you click tags that you are interested in, you will get a series of related contests with the tag.

If you are watching one contest, you can see "you are more interest in..." on the lower-left side.
They are recommendations of contests provided by Recordcup from three perspectives of who, what, and where related to the contest you are watching.

Q10. How to play "Easy WR"?

"Easy WR" was launched in September 2008. Each day Recordcup announces a goal which needs users accomplish it together. A goal including how many people join has to be finished in 24 hours. For example, A goal is "do you go to Olympic Arena today?" If there are 1000 people signing up "yes", then the goal will be announced achieved by showing an interesting photo of Olympic game.

The meaning of this new service is people do something small together then they can make a world record.
